Think Tanks

Since 1988, NERCHE has convened "Think Tanks" representing the diversity of colleges
and universities in New England. The think tanks embody the essence of NERCHE's work - collaboration, diversity, and scholarship rooted in practice. Participants are nominated and selected because of their  reputations for leadership, creativity, and interest in establishing collegial networks beyond their institutions. The Think Tanks serve not only as a venue for exchanging information and resources, but also as a forum for translating theory into practice as members draw policy implications from their discussions.

Deans Think Tankis a place for Academic  Deans to explore the issues associated with running "an institution within an institution" - everything from creating policies for promotion
and tenure, to curricular revisions, to collaborative pursuits across the university.

Multicultural Affairs Think Tank
This Think Tank is being offered to address the unique needs of administrators responsible for the multicultural priorities and concerns of their campuses. The theme for this year's think tank is:  "Institutionalizing or Embedding a Multicultural Agenda Within the Campus Culture."  Rooted in this theme are the ideas that each campus has its own culture and history, and the director of multicultural affairs director is often the key strategist in forwarding a multicultural agenda.
