Read more..."BOSTON - Wednesday, July 28, 2010 - Building on the Patrick-Murray Administration's commitment to excellence at Massachusetts public institutions of higher learning, Governor Patrick today signed a bill granting a name change to six of the state's nine state colleges who will henceforth be known as state universities. The Governor marked the occasion at a State House ceremony attended by hundreds of students, faculty and campus leaders."
Armand Carriere, 2010-2011 NERCHE Visiting Scholar, along with Margaret Brabant and Donald Braid from Butler University, have co-authored a survey that is part of the pilot phase of a research project examining the impact of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Outreach Partnership Centers (COPC) program upon universities and colleges. The project will also attempt to document the impact of COPC activities in the community.

Eugene Walls, Assistant Professor of Social Work at the University of Denver. The 2010 Citation for Distinguished Engaged Scholarship for Early Career Faculty went to John Begeny, Assistant Professor of Psychology at North Carolina State University.
