Upon her retirement from UMass Boston in 1999, the UMass Higher Education Administration Doctoral Program established a fellowship in honor oGamson f Professor Zelda F. Gamson. The Fellowship was established to recognize outstanding students in the program who demonstrate potential for contributing to the higher education community both as scholars and as practitioners. The purpose of the fellowship is to provide dissertation support for advanced-level students. For 2009, the Gamson Fellowship will support two awards of $750 each. Eligibility and Guidelines for Application All Higher Education Administration doctoral students whose dissertation proposals have been approved by their dissertation committees (completed stage three in the dissertation process) are eligible. Applications are due no later than Monday, April 6, 2009. Awards will be announced in June. Application Procedure Applicants should submit each of four required components of the application, by completing this form.
